BOUNDARY OF MANN
These two paintings explore the boundaries (and differences) between air, sea and land. Using varied technical means Graham tries to evoke the textures and qualities of these three elements. The method he uses is traditional oil painting but he tries to avoid too much detail as it tends to seem too static for the effect he wants, which is fluid. Graham wants the viewer to infill the image with their own memories and experiences of wind, rock and water, a kind of involuntary memory which may be more satisfying and complete for the viewer.
