Jeremy has a huge collection of reference images that he dips into when developing an idea for a painting. He was surprised to realise he had photographed this fence-line from exactly the same position 16 years apart. Jeremy doesn’t recall exactly where it is – but it obviously caught his attention during his wanderings around the Island. The idea of a boundary is normal to us, but to anyone who has had the pleasure of watching a hen-harrier flying low over the landscape, then rising slightly to pass over a fence-line or wall, this man-made boundary is simply part of its environment.
