Ali Foster
Ali is a self-taught artist who has always loved doodling and drawing. The recent lockdowns gave Ali the opportunity to spend time painting and exploring her creativity. She is fascinated by subjects such as dreaming, metaphysics and consciousness, fairy tales, myth and magic and these ethereal themes are evident in her artwork. Ali paints intuitively and allows her pieces to naturally develop. Losing herself in art practice has become the easiest way for Ali to be completely in the now, a kind of meditation. Ali entered the Hodgson Loom Open Art Competition in 2022 and was delighted to be a runner up in the 2D category. and in 2023 the overall winner in the public vote. Although surprised by this success, Ali is very happy if she can create artwork which other people can enjoy. In summer 2023, Ali is joining the group of artists based at Grenaby Studios and is looking forward to being inspired by the wonderful rural setting and her fellow creatives. |
