Ali Hodgson
Ali Hodgson is a values-led, award winning multidisciplinary graphic artist and designer, graduate of The Royal College of Art and on a mission to make the world a better place through visual storytelling. Ali has a particular interest in communicating complex social, psychological or environmental issues, and is passionate about social and inclusive design, wellbeing, collaboration and imagination. Ali operates as both a freelancer in the creative industries, helping change makers speak from the heart using visual communication, storytelling and design; and also as a fine artist, working on many self-initiated projects including her graphic memoir-in-progress, Jumping Mouse (long-listed for the 2021 LDComics awards) and a recent solo exhibition titled ‘Telling Tales: Unexpectedly Illustrated Stories from the Isle of Man & Beyond’ at Artea. Ali is a member of the all-female international artist’s collective: Drawn Together, who released their first collective publication in the summer of 2022 with great success. She regularly runs online and in-person creative workshops and classes, including her popular Telling Tales creative drawing workshops at Mollusk Studios, a studio space she co-founded in Peel in 2022. Some of her previous clients and collaborators include: The World Fair Trade Organisation, The Scotland on Sunday, The International Futures Forum, Resurgence & Ecologist Magazine, DESIS (Design for Social Innovation Towards Sustainability), Colossive Press, The Helen Hamlyn Research Centre and closer to home: Net Zero IOM (The Isle of Man Government’s Climate Change & Transformation Team) and Shakti Man. Ali is also proud to partner with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man. |
