Colette Davies engages in a Fine Art practice focused on Oil Painting and Printmaking. She is preoccupied by the idea of sharing an evocation of our island and how it feels to be rooted in this landscape. She is often found walking, photographing, and painting the land in an attempt to evoke its multivarious moods, colours and ambiances. Some outcomes clearly speaking of the place and others abstracted depictions of smelling the gorse, the sea air, the wind whipping up the clouds. This layer of representative feeling in the images allows for a contemporary take on this art historical Fine Art format.
