Rebecca Odessa - Ellan Vannin
This hand-cut collage is an imaginative depiction of the Isle of Man inspired by the line in Eliza Craven Green’s poem:
'My own dear Ellan Vannin with its green hills by the sea.'
In addition to the Island’s pivotal relationship between land and sea, the collage explores the introduction of non-native flora and fauna to the Island, such as red-necked wallabies. This depiction is of personal importance to Rebecca who is originally from the antipodes, but, like the wallabies, now calls the Island home.
Medium: hand-cut suspended collage
Dimensions: 107 x 137 cm
