Graham Hall
At 15 I was apprenticed as an engineer and spent 40 years in the manufacturing industry, for many years in senior management roles. In that time I enjoyed designing and developing most of all, though it was never a major part of my working life. I began working as a wood turner about 15 years ago then took on a studio at Grenaby. With the influence of other artists I began to develop my thoughts, combining turning with carving. I love the forms found in nature and they have a profound influence on my work. I love the simple but perfect forms and try to reflect that in what I do. I’m now spending more time working at my studio and I’m really looking forward to developing a series of new projects and ideas. It’s so exciting to be able to develop a whole new phase in life. |
