Helen Winter

Helen is a textile artist with a passion for textiles with an affinity for detail and small, shiny things; she was often found rummaging through her mum’s button box looking for the treasures within and was taught to knit when she was 5 years old.
She studied Art A level, art foundation course at The Wirral Metropolitan College, Knitwear Design
degree course at Trent Polytechnic and then transferred to a Textile Technology course gaining a BTEC Textile Technology qualification.
Helen’s inspiration comes from the natural world providing her with a wondrous array of ideas and
material.
Her passion for textiles leads her to experiment with different techniques and uses various natural
fibres including silk, beads and hand embroidery leading to intricate pieces. Her work is continually evolving as she discovers new inspiration, new techniques and new textile materials to work with.
