Jo Lewy

Jo is primarily a potter working from her beautiful ancient studio in Ballabeg at Grenaby Studios. Her studio is in one of the last surviving quarter land farmhouses on the island and people are most welcome to visit.  Most of her work is narrative with a cartoon quality and often on a very large scale.  During 2020 Jo documented the ‘covid phenomenon’ through her pots doing so in a lighthearted but sympathetic style where possible!
Jo is passionate about the very beautiful Isle of Man and is inspired by its magnificent scenery and wonderfully quirky character. Much of Jo's work is increasingly based on scenes of the Island but she has also been concentrating on ‘Life Story’ pots where she weaves the life stories and events of families into the fabric of her pots to create lasting and quirky pots to pass down the generations  - great for ‘milestone’  birthdays and anniversary gifts.
