‘My creator’s handiwork moves me to distraction, so I have painted from my heart, not an account of the landscape, but an intensely felt response to its absorbing entirety’.
Living on the island, Petrina finds the mist, mystery and diffused light to be her constant companions and this past season has found her laying bare these essentials, merging elements into simple expressions of what she sees and feels, leaving the viewer to write their own dialogue within them.
She studied at the prestigious Bath Academy of Art in the 1970’s and has painted with passion ever since.
