Rosie J. Wood BA (Hons)

Rosie’s drawings, prints and textiles are inspired by the natural world and the rich cultural heritage of the Island. Her ‘Stones of Mann’ series has evolved out of her obsession with stones. From individual rocks and pebbles worn by the weather and tide to the many archaeological sites found around the Island.
“As well as what we have already uncovered I’m intrigued by what we have lost, what might be buried beneath our feet. Marks our ancestors left that have been worn away, no longer visible to our eyes.”
Rosie gained her BA(hons) in Fine Art as a mature student at University College IOM. She currently has a printmaking studio at Grenaby Studios, Ballabeg and is part of FibreSpace IOM, a group passionate about using natural fibres.
