Susanne E. Ekdahl is a Swedish jewellery designer who has been living in Isle of Man since 2008. After moving abroad and becoming a mother of two she gave up her business in financial services. When she moved to Isle of Man she signed up for a silver jewellery class at UCM and attended several more during the following years. She loves experimenting with different materials and learning new techniques. Predominantly self-taught, she also attends workshops in Sweden every year and takes courses to improve and learn new skills. She has almost finished a two-year Diploma course at the London Jewellery School. Here she has learnt how to work with gold, to do more advanced stone settings and several other techniques. Susanne’s work has been displayed and sold in different shops and art galleries in the Isle of Man and in Sweden. Currently you can buy some of her pieces at Island Inspiration in Douglas. She has also exhibited with the Creative Network every year since their start. All her handmade silver and gold pieces are unique and she makes a lot of pieces on commission. She believes every person is very much an individual and unique and she’s able to cater for different tastes and styles by offering custom made pieces on request.
